July 2006 - Sydney

Well here we are still in Sydney.  We are anchored in a lovely spot in Black Wattle Bay and as you will see from the photo 'our view', we have a great view.  We get new neighbours each week as cruisers come and go on their way up the coast or over to New Zealand.  Naturally we have been walking again taking in the sights of Sydney and harbour and I have managed to pick up some work for a few weeks at St Vincent’s Hospital. The famous Sydney Fish Market is in the right of the 'Our View' photo.  Means the cook keeps going shopping but we have wonderful meals.

On a visit to the Maritime Museum we managed to get a private tour of Kay Cottee's yacht First Lady (for those land lubbers amongst you she was the first woman to sail unassisted, solo and non-stop around the world) - her famous teddy bear was still on board and we thought he was just a normal sized teddy bear! Take a look.

The public transport here is great and the weather is much better than down south so we intend to do a bit more 'looking' around for a while.  Just need to remember to take the camera with us on our walks!

Neil says I have to say "I'm old now I have turned 50" - there happy?  Had a great day thanks for your calls and messages.  Things are jumping in Darling Harbour tonight - Tap Dogs (the male tap dancers) are putting on a free show - we're off, see you later.
